Seasonal Floral Design Workshop
Build practical skills in creating memorable seasonal arrangements through hands-on experience and direct mentorship from working professionals
What You'll Actually Learn
This isn't about turning you into a master florist overnight. We're focused on giving you solid fundamentals and real techniques that work in actual client situations.
Seasonal Material Selection
You'll work with autumn and winter flowers specific to our region. We source from local growers, so you'll understand what's actually available here and when it peaks in quality.
Structure and Balance
Most people think floral design is just artistic flair. But there's engineering involved. We'll show you how arrangements stay together, maintain freshness, and look intentional rather than random.
Client Communication Basics
Creating beautiful work is one thing. Understanding what a client actually wants when they say "something festive but elegant" is another. We practice those conversations because they matter as much as technique.
Practical Project Work
Each session includes actual project completion. By week eight, you'll have created centerpieces, wreaths, and bouquets that reflect real scenarios we handle for events and corporate clients.
How Sessions Are Structured
-
Small Group Format
We keep groups to eight participants maximum. This means you get actual feedback on your work, not just generic comments to a room full of people.
-
Material Access Included
All flowers, greenery, containers, and tools are part of the program. You're not scrambling to source supplies or guessing what to buy from hobby stores that don't carry professional materials.
-
Working Professional Instructors
Your instructors handle client projects regularly. They're teaching you techniques they used last week, not theory from a textbook written in 2003.
-
Portfolio Development Support
We photograph your finished pieces properly and help you understand how to present your work if you decide to pursue this professionally or as a serious side project.
Who Teaches This Program
You'll work with two of our senior design specialists who've been handling seasonal projects for years. They're not just talented at arranging flowers. They understand timing, client expectations, and the practical challenges of working with natural materials.
Drystan Kavanaugh
Lead Workshop Instructor
Drystan joined us in 2018 after working with event florists in Europe. He specializes in autumn compositions and has developed most of our corporate holiday arrangements. He's patient with beginners but doesn't sugarcoat feedback when your structure needs work.
Morwenna Thorne
Senior Design Specialist
Morwenna handles most of our high-end client projects and brings that perspective to teaching. She's excellent at explaining why certain color combinations work seasonally and which materials hold up better under indoor heating during winter months. Her background in horticulture adds depth to material discussions.
